Checking in on QF26 at LAX Question

I am scheduled for an upcoming trip to MEL on QF26. My itinerary is DAY-DFW-LAX on American and LAX-MEL (with a stop over at AKL). My question is, when I check-in with American at DAY, will I be issued my boarding pass for QF26? I am assuming I will, but when I get to LAX, will I need to exhange these boarding passes with QF?

I know that last year, when I flew Air New Zealand to AKL, United issued our LAX-AKL boarding pass at DAY, but when we arrived at LAX, we needed to be reissued our Air New Zealand boarding pass. I was just wondering if it will be the same for QF.

Also, we are flying business and eligible to use the lounge. If we do need to exchange boarding passes, can this be done at the lounge?

Thank you.

You should get your QF BP at DAY but sometimes this cannot be done for one reason or another, in which case you will get it in LAX. I do believe the airside bus is now back from T4 to TBIT in LAX as well which should make the transfer easier. The lounge at TBIT will reissue a BP if required.

Where is DAY by the way. (Got it Dayton wonder why airline codes website does not give result)

Unless systems improved you will require a new BP at TBIT

DAY is Dayton International Airport, which is ironic since there are no international flights. Dayton is in the US State of Ohio. Not much here really, but it is the home of the Wright Brothers, which the City of Dayton now claims as the "Birthplace of Aviation."

The airside bus is back - head down the escalators as if you were going to the gates for American Eagle (from memory its 44A, 44b etc) and its at the bottom on the right.

So, I don't have to go through security again at TBIT?

If the airside bus is back in operation you should be fine. Otherwise you need to exit the terminal, walk a few meters (I think to your left) and go through security at TBIT. Enjoy the flight.

Airside bus was operating a couple of days ago, but seemed to be on a much reduced schedule compared with in the past.

How frequent do you think the shuttles are?
