U availability LAX-MEL

I have my fiance waitlisted to U/g using UCs on Oct 14 QF94. I have been watching this flight for U availability and other than Fridays and weekends when the J load is higher, U usually opens up 3 days or so before the flight. Now coming up to Oct 14 I check today and all of a sudden none of the QF94 flights on upcoming days incl Oct 14 have any U (even Oct 9) even though for most they show J9 D9. Why is QF not releasing what is clearly available J seats to U? And why has this only started happening in the last week (eg Oct 7 QF 94 had U released).

Possible points to note, in the order of them appearing in my head:

- I assume you've checked your booking and they aren't cleared?
- Since the World Cup is on, they may want to hold it back as late as possible?
- There's still a few hours before the '3 days out' deadline, patience, grasshopper!
- I *think* QF will check it everyday from now on...?
- As you said, there're still plenty of seat left. Patience, grasshopper! Seatmap shows plenty of seats on the main deck. There may be even more if the 'special' seats are blocked, e.g., exit row.
- They don't like you.

Thanks Leumas.

Patience was never my virtue

And if I was paranoid I would pick the last
