Upgrade Points
In the past 3 weeks, I have requested upgrades for both me (SG) and my girlfriend (NB) on both legs of our upcoming trip to HKG. The booking was made under my name. Checking the "upgrade" tab in our booking in my FF profile, it shows the following:
* MEL/HKG - QF 29 - Upgrade to Business (40,000 points) - Requested
* HKG/MEL - QF 30 - Upgrade to Business (80,000 points) - Requested
Given the upgrades were specifically requested for 2 people @ 40,000 points per person each way, last week I called Qantas to enquire why one flight is showing 40,000 points and the other 80,000 points. I was told that the telephone consultant had allocated the incorrect number of points to the first upgrade and after a bit of mucking around, the consultant advised that she had fixed the problem.
Tonight, I checked back on my profile and the points required have not been updated.
Can I be confident that, on the odd chance that the upgrade on QF 29 does come through, that it will be for both of us? I am assuming so, purely on the basis that I made the upgrade request and that it says that it is for all people in the booking?

I had a similar issue recently. I had requested an upgrade sin>lhr from Business to First and had to change the date of my flight.
I asked the telephone consultant to request an upgrade for me on my new flight, and she did. When I checked online later, the upgrade request was there, but instead of saying 35,000 points was required it said 3,500 points.
They must manually type in the amount of points required for an upgrade....would be interesting to see if it cleared even with an incorrect number of points "required".
In my case I had to change my flight a second time, and this time the correct amount points required was entered...
