Case of the missing status bonus
I'm a QF SG FF, and I was checking my account this morning following a return trip from SYD to WGA on the weekend. The 1,000 pts for each sector have posted, along with the SCs, however an odd thing appears to have occurred. The Base Points are shown as 228, but there is no Status Bonus. I'm SG until April '08, and SYD-MEL flights two weeks ago correctly show the applicable Status Bonus.
It's no drama, as the points and SCs have correctly posted, and the Status Bonus on the flight between SYD and WGA doesn't threaten the minimum points earned.
I'm just curious to know if others have seen a similar thing.

I just checked and my return flights SYD-MEL end of May and they posted as 1,000 QFF points but no status bonus appears on the activity page.
Other flights I took on 12 May show the status bonus as well the 1,000 QFF points.

Thanks JohnK, I must admit to feeling a bit better that it's not just me. It will be interesting to see if this is a glitch that is affecting others. I'm guessing most folk wouldn't notice missing Status Bonus, unless for flights where it breaks the 1,000 point minimum threshold.

SYD-OOL in March shows shows bonus (1000 total).
SYD-MEL last week shows no bonus (1000 total).
Maybe there has been a change? Perhaps around the same time they started showing the ~ for qualifying segments? Not that it really matters...
FWIW reading the t&c's just now, i think QF is very generous handing out 1000 min points for short sectors, compared to AA@500 and BA@250. To compare, for LHR-PRG on BA in business i only got 975. Of course spending those points is another thing altogether...

Compare, say, ORD-MSN on AA in V class; as a QF Platinum member, the earning would be 50% of the 108 miles = 54 .. plus 54 bonus for Platinum so the min earning for an AA flight of 500 would apply whilst to AA a EXP ( or Platinum member ) would earn 500+500 = 1000

I have made a series of flights recently, and none have shown the status bonus. They were all 1,000 point flights. Do we have any definitive word on whether this has been an official change? Just wondering if I should chase up the points. Although it's a small quantity of points, it can tip you over into a new award flight category.

It makes no difference, since QFF applies the minimum last.
If you have say
299 miles 299 status bonus 1000 points total
or
299 miles - status bonus 1000 points total
what does it matter?

"Our Minimum Points Guarantee covers you any time your Qantas Frequent Flyer points add up to less than 1,000 (Qantas Economy) or 1,250 (Qantas Business or First) per flight, after you've added any applicable bonuses for membership status, cabin class and/or promotional offers."
