Discrepancy between availability and what's seen on seatmaps
There appears to be a discrepancy between availability on a QF flight (as searched through the KVS Tool) and the seatmaps (as seen via KVS and Expertflyer):
[KVS Availability Tool 2.3.1/Platinum - Amadeus: AUA]
The seatmaps (ITN via KVS and Expertflyer) show only six seats to be available in Y. (50H,J 51A,B 52J,K).
Any explanations out there?

There are three possible contributing factors to what you are seeing:[list][*]Some seats are reserved for elite FF members and may be shown as being unavailable but are not yet allocated to anyone.[*]QF25 is a multi-sector flight and some seats may be reserved for through passengers commencing in MEL. This is done to limit the need for through passengers to change seats at AKL.[*]Qantas is willing to oversell the cabin on the assumption that between now and the flight date there will be cancellations and no-shows.

Also, in the WHY cabin at least, there are about 22 seats which always show as blocked, even on ExpertFlyer. These comprise bassinet Positions, Exit rows and two or four other 'special' seats.
