QF - Extra PER-SIN services + changes to PER-DPS
Effective 09 DEC 2006:
Interestingly, (correct me if I am wrong) this will be the first time Singapore has seen Qantas 737 services, in particular the 737-800.
There was talk that JQ International would take over flying on the DPS-SIN-DPS route, although that's very unlikely now, although like with most things, this could change over the next year or so.
Over the next few weeks Qantas will commence removing the "Operated by Australian Airlines for Qantas" tag found in the online schedules. This shall make way for simply - "Qantas". I belive it has caused a lot of confusion especially with Japan services showing "Qantas" yet Denpasar (Bali) services show the additional "Australian Airlines".
Regards
- 737-800s will operate PER-DPS-PER services (in lieu of 763).
- Australian Airlines C/C will operate QF 75/6.
- PER-DPS-PER will be cut back to 2 services per week.
- PER-DPS-PER 73H services will be extended onto Singapore, resulting in two additional Singapore flights for Perth [per week] (double daily 333 services will continue as per usual).

Interesting, as I thought Qantas were wet leasing the Australian Fleet (767's) the crews would stick with the 767's. Now their crew are on 737's as well. The plot thickens.

QF should be able to do a ton of business SIN-DPS-SIN given all the SIN-Europe traffic that it can connect to. Presumably they chose to have an Australian based crew, thus requiring Oz-DPS-SIN-DPS-Oz routing, rather than 2 separate routes to DPS. Doubt QF will ever have a crew base in SIN, despite JQ.

Wow, will be interesting to see how the new flight times from DPS-PER are received - 1:10am departure from DPS and 4:40am arrival in PER (then again I guess it matches reasonably closely to the existing Garuda flight times).

Apologies for adding to an old old thread, but a directly related question -
I have enjoyed several times the great service from PER-DPS on the QF75/76. For the past couple of yours it's had times perfect for connections to/from LHR and the service on board has been great. It's always been a 2-class 737 sold as one class, meaning as OW Emeralds/Sapphires we have been able to get the J seats at the front for the Y fare.
Booking ahead for later in the year, I see that the times and the Y fares are the same, but seating is restricted to rows 4 backwards. It looks like it is being sold as 2 class now, can anyone confirm.
Strange though, if you try and price it in J, it will only give a full J fare at around 10 times the Y price. I can't imagine there can be much demand at this price. Any idea how to get a more discounted business class fare?
Also, when looking on expertflyer, a lot of dates into early 2009 are showing zeroed out in JCDI, yet still showing an empty seat map for these flights in rows 1-3. Any idea why this is? Is business class definitely on sale on this route, and if so, why does it appear zeroed out?
Thanks in advance.

They did release D on this sector from June 8,so I guess they are selling business class PER-DPS. I had a quick look and their looked like business fares around the 1100-1200dollar mark (one way), which is not really 10 times Y.

However, I am being quoted (by BA and by UK TAs) - for PER-DPS//DPS-SIN - the amount of GBP 256 for economy or GBP 1520 for business. While not 10 times, it is still 6 times Y, which seems settp/unrealistsic for a leisure route.
I am also told that there is only J class on PER-DPS, so it prices up as J on the first leg and D on DPS-SIN (this is April 09).
So I am wondering if there is D class still to be (and as yet) released. Also wondering why EF is showing J0 C0 D0 on the flight. Or is EF sometimes unreliable with QF availability?

AO staff having been operating QF flights for sometime now, they are actually part of QF but under different contracts. They operate a lot of the Carins - Narita flights
