QF/NZ code share
A few bit of publicity in NZ papers over the past few days that a code share arrangement is close to being finalised. The NZ papers had the deal as QF retaining flights into/out of AKL and perhaps code-sharing with NZ aircraft in and out of CHC & WLG routes. JQ would then fly WLG & CHC routes for lesiure.
Interestingly, on my most recent red-edeal e tkt on the validity line it read "VALID QF/AO/NZ ONLY" - I don't believe this came up previously. I am sure that if I tried to endorse to NZ it would not be accepted, but perhaps they are preparing the software for the code-sharing...

That's surprising.
Maybe QF and NZ got the details of the tribunal findings earlier than they were released - seems too short a time to get arrangement finalised (even if it merely confirms allowed to do what they wanted some time back).
Having said that I notice this year NZ (seems to) have more deals involving NZ trans-tasman and QF within australia.

A bit of back to the future here. I took a QF codeshare on NZ metal LAX-AKL (QF101 I think) back in 1991 (I think). And I am pretty sure they have codeshared trans-Tasman in the past, back when QF had some ownership in NZ (maybe around 1990). They certainly had the same fare and ticket validity for QF and NZ trans-Tasman

Dont expect any final code share arrangements to be announced for at least a month.
Codesharing JetConnect international flights off seems a good idea for QF so that the entire JetConnect fleet can have its *J* class seats removed and JetConnect can focus on domestic NZ sectors. Perhaps we might see JQ flying domestically within New Zealand before do long.
The real question is will they Codeshare on domestic routes ?

The "VALID QF/AO/NZ ONLY" condition has been on Trans-Tas QF tickets for a while now.
Can't remember when I first started seeing it, but most if not all of my Trans-Tas tickets this year have had it.
First time I saw it I wondered what it meant...
