Probably because there were some very cheap LAX-SYD-LAX fares at (IIRC) USD 695+tax a couple of months ago. I can only dream about QF offering those fares ex SYD to LAX.

Too good to be true?

Amazing how Best Flights push the very limit of what is reasonable advertising:

Here are the details of the flight you selected:

Name: Qantas 50 % OFF CAMPANION AIRFARES TO Singapore
Price: From $299 return plus taxes

Strictly true so long as the other passenger doesn't mind paying double that and no "sharing" occurs. Likewise, acknowledging it's from Perth in the primary advertising (rather than scrolling down to the fare tables) would be useful.

Now just need to get the family back in BNE/ROK to decide ASAP about Easter next year; otherwise we're off to Margaret River!! That said, London is inviting at those fares too (shame about the weather).

Cheers.

Question Still earning QFF points for Birthday Sale?

Do I understand it correctly that if I purchase the Qantas special birthday global sale - say from Sydney to Bali (return), if both I and my companion are QFF members then we would both get the points? How many points? I logged into Qantas website but could not find anything on this. Thanks for any clarification.

You would be flying on Australian Airlines as QF metal no longer flys to Bali from SYD so you would get no points.

I have only one question ...

... which has been nagging ever since I saw the ad in a UK paper this morning.

Whose birthday are they celebrating?

Could be forgiven for thinking it was Sir Les Paterson, but in fact it's QF's 84th birthday.

The phone number for the Singapore offer takes you to the Singapore Qantas office, which was closed yesterday and today (public holiday). Qantas Australia can't see these fares in their system
