Delaying Points appearing on Statement
Howdy,
Got a small problem, and want to delay the status points hitting my account.
- Status Reassement is the 30th of December.
- I am in J on the 29th of December MEL-NRT (160 Status Credits)
- I have already requalified for SG for "Next Year"
- I want these 160 Status Credits to appear in Jan (i.e for next years re-qual).
Is there anything that I can do to try and help these points say hit on the 1st of Jan (or Later?).
My only thought was to NOT put my QF FF No on the initial flight, and then ring up QF FF and have it added on the 1st of Jan. That way if it was manually entered, would it appear say on the 1st and thus 160 Credits and 5k points, or would they give me the 5k odd points, and 0 Status (either 0 itself, or 160 and then minus 160)?
What has happend to other flyertalkers when the sector/credit did not appear and you have called up - what date did it then show?
Or is there a better way (such as delaying the trip! :-) )
Thanks Again
Stuart

Don't like your chances....
I know a lot of other FF'ers have tried that and all that has happened is your lifetime SC's total has gone up and your points balance increases by the corresponding amount.

Your suggestion of not including your FF# used to work, but not any more. Now they will give you an adjustment to your Lifetime SC's but not add them to the current year if the flight was taken in the previous membership year. I think QF is catching on to some of the tricks used in the past.
The only sure way is to travel a few days later.
Is there an AA or BA codeshare on the same flight? Perhaps by booking the codeshare you may get the points posting delayed by a few days.
