checkmytrip.com and seating allocation

checkmytrip.com does not display seating allocated to me. I'm flying on QF5 to SIN and QF6 on the way back in Y Class. I'm flying there in late october.

Is this normal?

Thanks.

if you have no seat assigned, then this is perfectly normal. If you have a seat assigned then I would expect it to normally show

QF seatmaps on checkmytrip can sometimes be up and down - keep trying. I recently was checking on our seat assignment and how full the cabin was, and within the same day it showed "seat map not available" and then seat maps were up.

Seat map display can be unavailable e.g. if the allocation limit has been met or the flight has no pre-assigned seating however, imo, it does display on the main details page what seat number you have assigned if you do have one regardless of whether the map can be displaye or not

On the subject of seating assignment(s), is there anywhere to check this for reservations made via the Sabre CRS?

www.virtuallythere.com should be able to give you the information you're looking for.

This can be a matter of personal preference, but I would prefer row 11 to row 17. I really, really, REALLY don't like rows 17-18 upstairs - they tend to be a lot noisier than the the first few rows since they are closer to the galley and rear toilet. 11a is near the forward toilet but being a window seat you won't be bothered, since the toilet is behind a curtain in front of row 11. Even though I prefer aisles to windows I think I would still take 11A over 17J. Just my opinion though!

You can ask to change at the airport but they can't always move you. Upstairs tends to be full, so if you think you want to move to 17J I would do it now.

There are LOTS of threads here about which seats people prefer on the long-haul flights. Personally I would be asking for a lower deck aisle seats (D or F), which I greatly prefer to the upper deck (unless I can get 16B, J or K).
