Odour forces Qantas flight back
Friday, 6 August 2004
An Adelaide-bound Qantas airliner returned to Melbourne Airport yesterday morning after reports of an odour at the back of the aircraft.
A Qantas spokesman said the pilot decided to turn back shortly after taking off from Melbourne Airport at 7.40am (AEST).
"Very soon after take-off there were reports of an odour in the rear of the aircraft," he said.
"The pilot made a decision to return to Melbourne Airport and the aircraft landed without incident."
Passengers were transferred to another plane and left Melbourne shortly after 10am (AEST).
