We are booked in D on QF93 on Sep 07. Until today it has been showing as Skybed fitted. All of a sudden today (actually between this morning and this afternoon LAX time) the seatmap has gone to non-skybed a/c.
Is anyone familiar with the ops procedures and timelines? What is the likelihood that there will be yet another substitution before flight date (we are 1 month out)?
Non-Skybed would suck as I arrive at 7.30am and need to be at work that day.
My other options are to waitlist for Z (but don't fancy my chances). If I did waitlist for Z, and closer to the flight day I saw the a/c substituted back to Skybed could I call and cancel my waitlist (assuming it hasn't gone through already
)?

Had a similar situation recently. I was waitlisted in D for QF107 SYD-LAX which was showing skybed config. When my waitlist cleared by joy was short lived when I realised the reason was a jump in J seats from 50 to 79, which we all know means Dreamtime config. That change was about 2 weeks out. The following day's QF107 changed from Dreamtime to Skybed config
.
In the end I had to change my departure day to a few days earlier and changed to QF175 BNE-LAX non-stop, which happened to be a 3-class Dreamtime config sold as 2-class, so I scored 4A and had a first class sleeper seat ^ .
I would not hold out much chance of your flight changing back to Skybed.
If you are waitlisted for Z and call to cancel the waitlist before it has cleared, you should not have any problems. But if it has cleared, I think you will be stuck in Z

.I have a friend who works in engineering at QF & has told me that there are probs at the moment with the skybed rollout. Apparently, there's some trouble with the IFE which is affecting the upgrades.
You would think it would be better to put in the skybeds so that if the IFE is really the problem QF say it is then everyone would go to sleep
Anyway, I heard the problem was only in the F config not the J config.

That would not explain the reports of IFE problems on the A330-300's???Originally Posted by redrat
