QF WP,
like ships in the night as the say. Currently sitting in the Exec Lounge at LHR, which means I have missed you again. I'm on the way back to BNE after a little sidetrip to BCN. It was nice to feel the heat again after BNE's bitter winter (mind you its the same temp in Cork as it is in BNE and this is their summer ).

Nice way to start the week
Travelling on QF51 next Thursday and I thought I would have a look at www.checkmytrip.com to confirm everything was in order.
Pleasantly surprised to see that they have changed the op a/c to a 400 and that I have secured 25K ^ ^ ^ .
I'm glad that the repositioning is still going on. Now to try and convince them to change QF52 on the 1st to a 400

I hope that is 25K on a 3-class 744 and not a 2-class 744. The 2-class aircraft row 25 is bulkhead economy seats (still probably among the best WHY seats), but of course we all know what 25K on a 3-class config means ^ .

Thats my only concern. What are the chances of a 2 class 744?
Seat maps on www.itn.net and www.checkmytrip.com are not displaying so I can't be certain .

Doing a dummy booking for QF51 on Thursday 7th October in business class shows a seatmap reflecting a 2-class 744, with J only back to row 24. So it does indeed look the current plan has you in the bulkhead row of the real WHY cabin. Sorry to be the bearer of sad news, but better to know now than be disappointed when you board .

The worst of it is that I was originally booked QF51 on the 1/10 returning QF52 on the 16/10 which was slated as a 3 class 744 and I had to push the flights out by two weeks .
You'd think with 6 BNE-SIN trips for 2004 I would as least swing one

The plot thickens
Just checking QF51 for my Thurs departure and now it appears things have changed again.
It is still showing 744, however when you have a look at J on www.itn.net, J is showing single seats rows 1-4, then pair seats from 11 to 26, with Y starting in 34 which would mean 3 class with skybeds. I have been moved from 25K to 35A.
Will QF turn J into Y and will I be able to move "up" ?

JuPe, the best you can hope for is a 3 class sub and to find yourself sitting in P. The worst? I don't think there is a worst since that 744 that was on lease from BA was returned to sender.
For me, all I can hope for is that AY decide that the BKK-HEL flight on Jan 2 2005 *has* to be fitted with their new beds, as does the return on the 14th. Sadly I will have to settle with seat 1C in the old config.

Looking at the seat map, now all the seats in F have been taken and there are still 6 seats available in J Upper Deck.
However there are 7 seats taken in J downstairs so I doubt there will be any chance of Y ticket in J
