Unhappy No points earn on Qatar trans-Tasman in Business?

I recently flew AKL-ADL in Business on QR915 (cash fare), which was a really nice way to cross the Tasman and a massive upgrade on the Qantas 737-800 I usually fly from WLG.

The fare booked into I, which should earn as Business:

https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequen...#qatar-airways

...but I didn't earn anything. Obviously Qantas are a bit hard to get hold of at the moment so it's hard to ask them. They declined my points claim.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Is it because it's trans-Tasman and competing with a Qantas service?

Was this booked under a codeshare? Or directly with QR?
Did your BP show your QFF info/status?

Confirm the boarding pass shows your QFF# ? If so, then I’ll leave it to others to ‘fault find’.

I have had very slow mileage credit into my QFF account from JQ, but you mention the claim has been declined?

The boarding pass doesn't show it, so perhaps you're on to something there. It was definitely added to the booking though.

And yes, it's not a slow posting in this case. Flight was in early May, raised a points claim a few weeks ago, and just came through as declined.

I also note the points QFF calculator doesn’t offer QR as a carrier on route AKL-ADL, only JQ. Seems the QF system may not have been updated with data for this route.

Did they give a reason for declining it?

Try again by email to Qantas Frequent Flyer <[email protected]>
Include any documentation - boarding pass. Do not expect a prompt reply

Thanks all. Emailed [email protected] with boarding pass as Mwenenzi suggested. Was not expecting a response for a few weeks, but surprisingly heard back within a few hours and they've now credited the flight and I'm 80 status credits up 🙂

Good to hear. Seems to be a programming glitch for AKL-ADL in the QFF system per the screen shot I posted.

That’s a decent earn for the distance I think? How does it price? (Roughly)

Now if only I could get my BA SYD-SIN points to appear five weeks after flying and raising a missing points request.

Around $1200 NZD single, so probably doesn't stack up that well as a good value mileage run. Really enjoyable travel experience though.

I always wanted to do the Emirates A380 first class CHC-SYD but the pandemic seems to have been the end of that route.

well done. i found that email to be very responsive and pragmatically addressed. First "decline" was just system auto filter so glad you got it sorted
