Is it possible to book Air Tahiti Nui flights with Qantas Points
Hi everyone - I'm looking for help with understanding how to book an economy award on Air Tahiti Nui's PPT>LAX route using my Qantas Points. I see posts from around 2018 that confirm that the Qantas should theoretically be able to book this route: https://www.pointhacks.com.au/air-ta...emption-guide/
Additionally, Qantas lists them as a partner on their website https://www.qantas.com/us/en/qantas-...rch-for-flight
I've confirmed economy award availability is plentiful for the dates I'm interested by verifying on expert flyer and American Airlines. However, the phone agents at Qantas insist that Air Tahiti Nui is not a partner and not bookable with points.
Has anybody ever been able to do this successfully? Are there any tricks to book?

Where on the QF site has it said that the redemption is possible?
On the general page on redemptions at https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequen...bId=use-points there is no mention of TN
As far as agent roulette goes, that doesn't ime tend to be relevant on Qantas - not likely to get varying messages

The only evidence I have from the QF site is that, as you point out, it says classic rewards are possible on QF marketed flights. I see that it IS possible to use QF points to book TN flights that originate in AKL, which do seem to be codeshare flights. However, as the original point hacks article also mentions, you have to call in to book flights that originate in PPT.
When I called in yesterday, the agent insisted it wasn't possible to book TN. I'm not sure if this is because there truly has been a change in policy since 2018 OR if the agent didn't know what he was talking about.
One hypothesis is that QF used to codeshare on the PPT>LAX route and no longer does. Can anyone confirm if this might be the issue?

You would only be able to redeem if (a) there is a Qantas codeshare that would be bookable for PPT-LAX , ((b) that under the Qantas codeshare , Qantas has award seat availability
Looking at LAX-PPT, it seems that Qantas codeshares on TN101. If you can find award availability on QF3816 then you can book it. You cannot book on the TN flight number - in the other direction QF3815 is a codeshare on TN8
