Domestic airport delays due to security screening
Hi all,
Just wanted to hear from people who have flown domestic over the past few days (particularly from Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra) and how big the delays due to extra security screening actually are. I know VA have sent round an email saying that they recommend arriving 2hrs prior to a domestic flight due to the extra screening! However I'm assuming that this is also due to the fact that they still manually check people in opposed to Qantas' automatic system.
Is Qantas enforcing the Business Class Security Screening line for Gold, Plat, P1 and CL FF's to get through quicker? Cause normally this is just a free for all.
Cheers.

It took 40 mins to clear premium security line at SYD T3. In the afternoon the lines were gone.
I didn't see any reporting from T3 today.
The staff ares simply saying "Premium" as they walk past. They may have tightened up during the week. They generally look at baggage tags or look at your BP or card.

Travelling today from CBR and through MEL. Will report later.
I had VA change to an earlier flight out of CBR. They waived the penalty because the connection was at the 2hr mark, the agent spoke of a memo that permitted that. Seems like the folks at VA know longer transit is needed for dom-int.
