12:15 came and went as replacement aircraft was called from SYD. Now arrived and they are transferring everything between the 2 planes. Departur now expected 1.05pm. I’ll get there at some stage but will certainly miss the Tour and Q&A.

Thanks again to QF WP and Storyteller for the organisation and hope all enjoyed the dinner.
The IOC tour was a great experience.
It's amazing how many people it actually takes to keep 100-odd (mainline aircraft) flying in a network. 40 people in the wee hours and 100+ when the domestic aircraft are flying.
Qantas's customer service focus really came through as they described how they handle disruptions, and we heard some interesting stories.
Also discussed was the amount of juggling and proactive solving that goes on so customers don't even realise there was an issue somewhere else in the network.
I think the best analogy given was that the people in the IOC are very good at playing Tetris, continually fitting customers, planes, and crew
