Assigned seating on LA code share

Just flown on QF 321 (LA metal). All was fine until check-in and agent looks puzzled, makes a few phone calls and prints out BPs with SBY in the place of seat numbers - the very seat numbers that were in the QF system for the past 11 months. A few minutes later she prints more BPs but with us in very different rows, but at least in seats this time.

She says that we should enquire in the Flounge about being seated together and that the "back room staff" were going to rearrange others' seats so we could sit together.

Gladly, upon entering the Flounge, we were, indeed, seated together instead at opposite ends of the cabin. New BPs waiting at the gate.

Not sure if this is a regular occurrence with code share passengers, but a few other QF WPs at check-in were also asking why they were not in their requested seats.

Unrelated, I saw more QF WPs on this flight than other status passengers - based on the WP bag tags. SYD-SCL must be very profitable - no wonder QF has moved to SCL instead of EZE.

Has happened to me on the last 3 LA flights.
I agree about the number of WP and oneworld Emeralds on this flight and hope LA continue the service as I prefer them on the AKL-SYD route.

have taken the LA flight ex SYD a few times. each time (LA code, QF code) have been reissued BP at gate. Sometimes with same seats
Wasnt the only one with a new BP either. Maybe this is a LA thing ex SYD??
