Jetstar awards released month-by-month?

I've been trying to get an award ticket on Jetstar for March of next year, but it seems like they've only released through Jan. 31. I've waiting about a week and nothing has changed.

Does anyone know if they do, in fact, only release seats for awards month-by-month? And if so, when does the next month become available?

I'm looking at the NZ domestic network as part of a connection from a long-haul from LAX on QF. Jetstar is the only airline I can use, and for such a short flight it doesn't really matter to me.

Have you seen to prices they charge? Surely it would be better value to pay the fare rather than waste points on them?

I know they're cheap, but since the award is being tacked on as a connection, the flight is effectively free to me. I'd really appreciate it if someone could answer my question though...

Awards from LAX are limited. They may be gone if you wait

Are you using QF points or another oneworld program?
I do not know if the JQ flights are available for redemption on oneworld at the moment or if you need to book the codeshares.

Looks like ijk3234 is using AA miles as this post: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/16185617-post2687.html

Do I just have to hope that the phone agents will allow me to extend the hold multiple times? If so, how successful are people in getting holds extended?

Thanks for the help!

I am using AA miles, but I've checked and they do allow me to book on Jetstar. However, they don't seem to be releasing any more seats past January, and I was trying to figure out when that may happen.

So does this mean that no one knows the answer?

I've checked JQ's availability in the past, and they don't seem to load flights into the inventory as far ahead as QF (or AA for that matter). This is not only true of awards seats, but also of purchased fares (e.g., right now, fares to HNL are only available on QF in Feb. and Mar. 2012 because JQ only loaded flights until the end of Jan. 12).
