BKK changes

Haven't been through BKK for 6 months but there I have noticed changes in the Flounge. No more Moet - only some cheap imitation. Also the tasty prawn snacks are off the menu. More cost cutting!!

Changes to the transit security arrangements - these have been reported on the BA forum.

Hmmm.

I have been to the F lounge in BKK several times in the last few months and have been satisfied with the experience.

The prawn snacks may be off the menu but as I don't eat seafood I really haven't noticed Otherwise the food seems to have been pretty consistent with the offerings over the last few years.

Moet is a fairly basic lead-in NV that carries a premium price for the name (brand). But to me the cost in itself is not an indication of quality at that level. There are plenty of lesser known, but equally as good (or better) NVs which may be cheaper simply because they are not as well known. It comes down to personal preference I guess.

The cognac is still XO in the lounge.

It is a delight to be in the BKK Flounge as the smells from the Thai food offerings are wonderful. The availability of outside light with views makes the lounge bright and comfortable. This is in contrast to the dismal offerings in some other cities.

Just take a short walk down the corridor to the JL Lounge and you will soon see how Great the QF/BA F Lounge is.

2 weeks ago they still had Moet though when I was in the lounge last week they had Laurent-Perrier. Personally, like the previous poster said, it all comes down to personal preferences and, personally, I prefer Laurent-Perrier. Regarding the food menu, I spoke to the lounge manager and she said they try to change it once every few months. My guess is your prawn will come back again rather soon. And like the other poster has mentioned, try JL or CX lounge, you will appreciate what you have in BA/QF lounge
