CAI to World - Currency Conversion Issue?
At the moment, there seems to be some glitch with flight prices out of Cairo (CAI), Egypt. I'm not sure exactly what's going on, but no matter where you look, flight prices are discounted. I'm looking at flight prices in USD, so maybe an issue with currency conversion from EGP to USD?

It works with both roundtrip and one-way flights.

EGP devalued by around 30% overnight after central bank moved to a floating exchange rate and hiked interest rates. I suspect this is the cause of the currency conversion issue

Are any of these actually bookable? Everything seems to reprice when you click through. Seems like the GF currency converter is just glitched due to the devaluation mentioned above.

I haven't tried all of them, but yes, a few can be booked at the displayed price.

Dang it, was quoted 14,000 EGP for a OW to LHR, BA charged me 651 CAD. Oh well, gonna cancel it anyways.

LH group flights can be put on hold for some nominal dollars and ticketed in two days to get the EGP devalued price.

TK quoted CAI to IST to YVR return for 69,820. But final price is calculated as EGP121,954.

Looks like if the airline or OTA has you pay in EGP you get a deal, otherwise no-deal!

Credit card exchange rates weren't updated this morning, so it's also possible you were charged the correct amount, but the currency conversion was wrong.

For example, Visa and Mastercard still think 1 EGP is 3.2 cents USD instead of the actual rate of about 2 cents USD.
