JAL: SIN-HND-SFO r/t p/e USD 2k (or rt from JFK)

Without constantly comparing to yesteryear pricing..

This is pretty good, given it includes a full stopover in Tokyo.

Also works to return from JFK (although not the A350 at this pricing level)

Whilst not shown on GF, this can be priced up as such using JAL's own site

370 TP on BA (so comparable $-wise to biz J long haul return++)

It is not difficult to find premium economy fares across the Pacific for $2000.

yesteryear? You can book Singapore air premium economy for NYC-SIN $557 one-way right now. I'll admit it's been a while since we've seen a good premium economy deal to Asia on Oneworld carrier though.

For those that need to start in Asia..
This was not comparing to anything originating in US

And Oneworld is a major factor here

For what it is worth, JL p/e is pretty awful - really lousy food, tight seating and poor value for money

Agree on food, it’s the same thing they serve in economy but seats are top of class IMO for a premium economy product, not to mention getting lounge access and great service. I don’t personally value food that highly at prem economy so it works for me; it’s all a matter of preference.

SQ isn't a OneWorld carrier, but it is creditable to your AS frequent flyer account, so to me that is just as good.

Thanks for the fare, OP! Has been tough getting good OW fares to/from Asia as of late.

Anyone have any experience with upgrading PE to J on JAL?

What's this actually book into? CX almost always has a good PE fare SIN-JFK but if this is not a P fare then it's a lot better than CX for Advantage earning. Admittedly JP PE is bottom of the barrel but the earnings could be lucrative.

If your goal is AAdvantage LPs, you're probably better off booking JAL business class.

Books into E class. 25% AAdvantage cabin bonus.

Nice opportunity to try out JAL’s new premium economy

Ok, for the significant markup over CX then I wouldn't feel 25% cabin bonus on JL vs 0% cabin bonus on CX is worth it, both still get the same elite bonus and 100% base miles.

I'm excited for the new JL A350-1000 F and J but not PE. And if you get stuck on JL's 77W or 787s, as other posters have mentioned JL is pretty low on the scale of PE. The A350-1000 will have better seats but food will still be the same as economy. JL doesn't make PE as premium as some other airlines. Ok, sure they give lounge access in place where they have their own Sakura lounge, but you spend what, an hour or two max there (I reckon most people 30 mins or less) and sit in a cramped seat for 10+ hours?

I do like JL's old PE as it is very spacious. The new PE looks like their A359's Domestic F seat.
