WY / MH CDG-SYD-CDG J Class 3087EUR (~5K AUD) Return

Just booked this for departure JUN24 via WY website. (Return SEP24)

CDG-MCT-KUL WY Metal (787/A330)
KUL-SYD MH Metal A330.

Google Flights search shows a higher fare, but when directed to WY website prices drop.

Yes, more expensive booking the other way.

I just did a one way on points a couple of years ago, and now originate all bookings ex Europe. It saves at least 15K a year.

Air India? Ah, no thanks. Maybe I am being harsh?

March this year I flew PER-CDG via KUL and MCT for A$4800. Flying from MEL at that time was roughly A$5k.
Sometimes the price is decent in the reverse, but I do take most of my return flights from the EU.

No one knows, and with AAB stepping down from QR and not being the rotating head of oneworld they lost their champion. Couple that with their reorganization and I’d say don’t hold your breath.

WY downgraded 787 Lie Flat to 737-8 Recliner for MCT-KUL legs.

Poor show.

That's a pretty long flight for a narrowbody!

Indeed. 7hr+, and an overnight in the Eastbound direction.

At least PR had the decency to install lie-flat in their A321NEO for this length flight.

Indeed. I would pretty annoyed if I had been baited and switched like this.

Credit where credit is due. Oman Air came to the party and rerouted me via BKK at no extra cost so I could avoid the 737-8.

Outstanding customer service from them, sorted out with one email.

That is actually impressive. A lot of airlines would have told you it's tough crap.
