Skyteam/Oneworld/StarAlliance: PDX to Europe Biz RT US$2500

The fare is available for most European cities: CDG/FCO/IST, etc., even small airports like JTR. It shows a lot of availabilities until April next year (mostly weekdays departure) and some sporadic days in the summer of 2024 as well. You can find more on Google Flights:

I believe that some other US cities might have the same price, but I don't have much time to explore it.

All alliances, these are all showing as base fare of $500 in EF. The ST ones seem to have the most allowable dates (even late July again for some good options for peak travel next summer).

Unfortunately, this is somewhat less appealing now that the AARP discount on BA appears to be dead.

Just saw some fares on ST from LAX in December for ~$2,500 also, awesome!

I don't see most of these fares anymore, BUT I do still see PDX-IST RT via LHR for $2600ish. It's on British Airways in April, late July, August, and September, leaving any Tue/Wed/Thu. Pretty good mileage run, since the LHR-IST legs are in J. If I'm calculating correctly, this would be over 22k EQM on Alaska.

Example fare.

The problem with flying J class with European carriers is that business is really just economy class with blocked center seats. TK, on the other hand, flies with a true business class product that has more than a 30-32” pitch and narrow, economy seats.

you are talking about intra Europe routes, those routes are mostly 1-2 hours flight time only.

This is a pretty normal deal overall. Maybe good for PDX, but you can construct it when ever you want for $2500.
(aka - fly domestic to east coast, then $2k to various European destinations.)

as mentioned above, I would not beat your self up too bad, unless you were trying to hit the Xmas holiday...in which case this deal may not reappear...but looking into the Feb-July window, I expect to see sub $3k again from the west coast on a single ticket at some point. i guess the thing i would say is be ready next time though so have the conversations you need to have and settle 1st, 2nd, 3rd date options...

Sure. You can fly 5 hours in economy class across the country to catch a cheap trans Atlantic business class.

Yes. Day in. Day out.

That is the point. Anyone worried about missing this fare can find cheap international biz for cheaper from the East Coast.
(And that assumes your upgrade doesn't clear / find a cheap first.)
