AS LAX-JFK First Class - $532.00 RT

Pretty Good AAdvantage earn - Books into I Class. EDQ's $1491.60 EQM's 7,458. Not sure what the earnings would be for other OW airlines, or if they'd even have those published by then due to how fast they joined, but AS is a full member as of 3/31/2021. Just did LAX-EWR last week in AS F and it was fine. Nice leg room, pre-packaged meals were really tasty, F/A service was great and you get the AL. The drawback is only beer and wine on offer for booze on board. If you can survive for 5 1/2 hours without a lie-flat, the EQD's on this make it a good deal. Spoke to AS and there is a possibility that the AL in JFK will re-open if their projected flight schedule stays close to what is loaded for the spring, so we will see.

30% is only on Coach fares on certain days of the week. 10% off on First fares all days of week though.

I must admit, wasn't aware of how lucrative AS can be domestically... works also on weekends in both directions...
British Airways should earn 140 TPs each way...
American Airlines flyers would obtain 7425 EQMs 1485 EQDs while Executive Platinum would obtain 16335 RDMs, Platinum Pro 13365 RDMs, Platinum 11880 RDMs, Gold 10395 RDMs, Base Members 7425 RDMs

Alaska should be updating charts on the 24th so we will see what happens with the variety of partners and how AS changes.

Correcting the error on AS bonus

Is that true? Are there elite level bonuses for AA RDM when flying AS?

Apologies, my mistake... I just did a data dump and now realized my RDM model didn't adjust for AS and a few others that don't give bonus such as S7 and UL...

I am a bit confused; AA's website shows EQM at 1.5 times flight miles and EQD at 30% of dollars paid. How are you getting to the numbers listed above for a $532 flight???

EQD’s are based off of 30% of the miles flown: 4972 x .0.3 = $1491.00. EQM’s 4972rt x .5.

I just did LAX-EWR-LAX that’s how it was credited. There is an AS flight credit to AA thread in the AAdvantage “Airlines & Mileage Programs” forum. That explains. CHEERS.

You can also do FLL-LAX for about $500.

AS has lots of transcon fares for $300 or less one way in F. I’m seeing plenty of seats to Boston too. One of the reasons these are so cheap (aside from the demand side issues) is that other airlines may offer lie flat seats on some transcons but AS does not. you get what you pay for. That said these are really cheap for F compared with pre-covid prices.

Fair enough on the product differences.

The big advantage of this one is the arbitrage for AA flyers. Getting 30% of the distance as EQD's is huge. As AA and AK grow closer, I think this will go away.

Looks like this is an even better way than CX PE

CX PE is 20% but long distances. But that's complicated with closed borders. If you are willing to fly you can easily do same-day turns on AS Transcon and pad up your AA account.

The question is what will happen with status this year, Air France/KLM just gave everyone another free status extension.
