EK: F CMB-LAX $4245 return

Nice fare out of CMB on one of the best first cabins and airline. Can also route through MLE.

CMB-MLE-DXB-LAX-DXB-MLE-CMB all in First (A fare)

GC Mapper shows 21,414 base distance miles.

Hours on first class in the air: 21hrs 50min for outbound and 21hrs 35min on return. Total 43hrs 25min.

Lemme know if you are able to increase miles or more time in F on this fare

Book directly on EK and play around dates and routings on EK's website or GF Round trip to Los Angeles | Google Flights

Check out where to credit to see what FF programs offer on EK first (A) Where to Credit | Where to Credit Emirates Flights in A Booking Class

Safe Travels.

If it weren't for Alaska's segment requirements this would put most people right at MVP 75k. Hmmm, but the bonus miles give me enough for a trip to Japan, but there's been 0 CX availability right now. Tough call.

These flights should give an EQM (at 150%) of 32,714 with AS, which is well short of the miles required for MVP75K. It does however give you 75,068 RDM (at 350% before any elite bonus).

This fare does not allow a stopover in DXB, and any other stopover (eg MLE) cannot exceed 7 days.

This is really tempting....may pull the trigger if the fare is around for Jan 2022. Would be 75k if all things go well this year and basically guarantee qualification for me that year since I travel about 40k AS metal organically a year.

So the math for me is $4250 - 140k RDM (when factoring in 50k RDM bonus) rebate...enough for a RT F on JL or CX.

Yes, tempting! As it stands the fare requires travel to have commenced by 30 June 2021, but you could invoke the "Keep your ticket" option due to COVID restrictions and theoretically extend the ticket validity to 24 months from date of booking. If you are thinking of using this option then I would run it by them on FB or Twitter messaging to confirm whether a repricing would apply as you will be outside the "travel by 30 June 2021" window. Hopefully not.

It appears only the 777 is flying to LAX? I haven't flown the new 777 cabin but otherwise I would prefer the A380.

Any plans you might make about whether a flight will be operated by an old 777, a new 777, or a 380 are subject to significant changes.
