AM: SFO-MEX-LIM return biz, $518 May
I've been monitoring this fare for my brother since he has an Aeromexico credit he needs to use. I see the fare in May, but have not checked other dates (or origins). These are not lie-flats, but on Delta the MQD will be around $3600, and MQM will be around 13500, and the RDM will be around 18000 plus bonuses for Delta elites. This itinerary has been $900+ recently.

LIM has been below 600 a few times over the past few months.. also have seen in the last month ORD-LIM $488 DEN-LIM $499
SFO-LIM would earn 13530 MQMs 3608 MQDs 6.97 MQD Ratio
Delta Diamond members would obtain 39688 RDMs, Platinum 32472 RDMs, Gold 28864 RDMs, Silver 25256 RDMs, Base 18040 RDMs
SFO-LIM would earn 13530 MQMs 3608 MQDs 6.97 MQD Ratio

i.e. (9,020 x 2) + (9,020 x 1.5) = 31,570 RDM

As far as my model goes, the variable is earned base RDMs 18040 (200% of the 9020 flown miles) then the Delta bonus for status holders is 120% of the RDMs, if not mistaken... 21648... we sum it up to 39688.
That's been my interpretation of the earnings... Of course models can be wrong, and partners that don't have the bonus are a twist. Same type of model for AA but going crazy with the development of an Avios / TP combined model...
(4) Medallion Mileage Bonus is based on Base Miles earned: Diamond - 120%; Platinum - 80%; Gold - 60%; Silver - 40%

But the base miles earned is not the flown distance, it's the flown*2... a Base flyer would earn 18040 and we use that as the X since its 40-60-80-120% of X + X...

Indeed but what's the risk really? I do not expect any changes to my itinerary really. If AM shuts down I will call Chase and get my money back (either by disputing the charge or making a claim with the travel interruption insurance). Huge upside on these deals and small downside (IMHO).

Just go to the South American Airlines forum and see how easy it is to deal with AM. I don't have any problem with you booking with them but I do have a problem with touting a good airfare that has a big potential for frustration and potentially not getting the services paid for. AM is the rotten apple in the barrel.
