DL: LAX-PVG $823 in PE

Pretty good price if you're going anyway, possible MR if you get 125%+.

Direct round trip, next day turn around available at $831. Pretty wide availability $823 - $843 from March - May, then more at $841 September - November. On Delta.com I see Premium Select (not Comfort+);on Orbitz I get PE and the PE seat chart. Books into G for 100% in most programs, and 125%+ in a few; 6.3 cpm at 100%, 5 cpm at 125%.

In April there is limited availability for an LAX-DTW-PVG-DTW-LAX routing; the LAX-DTW segments are (obviously) just C+ so earn 100% MQM, but a nice boost regardless. Also, you can do mileage upgrades from this fare for 45k miles per way, so nice way to try A350 suites.

I believe DL pulled fixed rate mileage upgrades effective Feb 12, and as usual, without notice.

No, that would be terrible, they killed fixed-rate for domestic routes (and certain shorter intl routes). You can still upgrade at fixed rates for international long-haul; I was checking availability for it yesterday.

Non stop PE is cheaper than stopping in SEA on the way to China.

LAX to PVG non stop in PE:

Availability is good.

The premium economy "G" fare (I just discovered!) gets 150% of the mileage for the MQMs at Delta.

Thus this flight is 12,970 miles * 1.5 = 19,455 MQMs with the benefit of PE and non stop! This is a great fare! 4.4 Cents per mile.

the prices rise in mid-December through the New Years, but in January 2020 the prices return to <$850.

They only pulled it on routes entirely within North and South America.

Anyone know how this would work for a quick turn at PVG? I'm seeing a good fare for April 6-7 and the turn time in PVG is only 2 1/2 hours. Would one have to get the return ticket printed at LAX so you could use the transit lane once arriving at PVG? Or would you have to clear customs and check in at the Delta ticket counter?

This fare is still available, but the price has increased to $1,168 USD. I regret not purchasing at $848.

Do you have a Chinese visa? (Or have a passport that allows Visa free travel to China?) If not forget about Transit as the visa free Transit requires you to travel to a 3rd country... LAX-PVG-NRT-LAX is OK but LAX-PVG-LAX is a no go...
