Departing BOS, choose day of the week carefully for nonstop to ICN vs. extra connection at JFK. BOS-ICN operated by KE 787 Dreamliner.
BOS-SGN available for $2200.

KE: BOS-Vietnam r/t in J for ~$2.2k
50-day advance purchase and 10-day min are quite restrictive but with careful planning this may work for some.
Can be routed via ATL for more miles. Earns decent mileage on either DL and AS.

I couldn’t get the BOS-ICN nonstops to work for our dates, and initially had trouble booking two tickets on the same flight at this fare. But I made it work with a routing via ATL.
Everything is marketed as KE flights, so I’m looking at earning 200% RDM’s on DL plus my Medallion bonus, 150% MQM’s (about 30,000), and 40% MQD’s (about $8000). Pretty solid for $2200 ai.
Korean Air’s nonstop BOS-ICN service starts April 12.

Anyone wanting to earn Delta miles should make sure to buy the KE flight number options, not the DL flight number options. KE flight number options will earn tons of miles -- over 25K MQMs and over 7K MQDs if coming from the East Coast of the US, plus lots of redeemable miles, over 50K if you have high Delta status. Delta flight numbers would earn same MQMs but much less MQDs and RDMs (driven by the ticket price).

I tried to look up a couple of dates that I found on ITA and found the prices significantly higher on the KE website.
Is there any trick to getting these booked or do I just need to power through all the acceptable dates to find dates that work?
