Only if the fare listed has a * next to it. Otherwise you will earn at the normal chart

Sorry, you're correct the * fares usually earn higher EQD and RDM not EQM.

Booked one of these a while ago and nested a pek-jnb rt in PE on CX. Full routing will be LAS-DFW-LAX-PEK in J, PEK-HKG in Y, HKG-JNB-HKG-PEK in PE, and PEK-LAX-LAS in J. Will fly this weekend up until Thanksgiving. Sad that no routing through HKG on AA, have a swu left and would have loved to try F for the first time.

EQMs: 52415
EQDs: 6089
EXP RDMS: 67665
Cost: 3556 (~1.7x EQD multiplier, not the best but was stuck with these dates and a huge gap to EXP)

Is this a special sale? Limited time? Thanks

FWIW.. This deal (though not as good) works through PHX as well in the $2,500 range. Some longer routings (ex. PHX-ORD-DFW-PEK-DFW-LAX-PHX w/4 legs on 787-8/9) available. Dates available now through end of summer.

(Sorry this was already mentioned previously)

Well, at least you get the 21k bonus miles now if you book thru the end of the year.

FARE GONE?

It looks like it is too late for 2018, December not working ex-MCO, RDU.

yup, out of MCO gone for 2018. You can get ~$2700 but that's ~$400 more. It's back for early 2019.

I just a quick update -- noonish on Monday
City => Pek and 3 nights hotel - (Minimum purchase on AAVacations )

LAS - PEK - $2206
MCO - PEK $2425
RDU - PEK $2548
PHX - PEK - $2510

I wonder if there are any other Asian destinations with cheap biz fares. I'm trying to get to CNX in Jan/Feb. Jan 23rd to Feb 12th -- bouncing around in between.

Qatar has a flt $3,400 ish -- but AA will allow on 25% of EQD -- and I hate to lose 3/4 of dollars spent.

Ideas?

Learn how EQDs work?

Your EQD earnings will be 25% of the distance flown, not dollars spent (assuming fare classes J/C/D).

EQDs are 25% of miles when flying on partner, not of $’s spent. The idea here is that AAA doesn’t know what you spent on the air proportion show Hass to find another way to credit. The percent miles-based earning is how they do it.

what dates are you talking about? Monday when (first part of your reply)?

CFM3RD Nov 26, 2018 12:36 pm

I realized I forgot the date.
Plan to leave Jan 23rd ish - return Feb 12th ish.

My understanding - which apparently is wrongo, ignorant man - if I spend $2500 on AA I receive the $2500 toward my $6000 nut to crack for Plat.

If I spend $2500 on partner airline then I would only receive $625 EQD -- dollars spent. 25%
I thought the EQM's - would be the same for the length of the trip.

To explain more. I'm going to visit two missionary friends over in Asia - One in Chiang Mai and the other in Phenom Penh .
1) DFW - LAS - Ticket 1 - outbound
2) LAS-DFW-PEK - Ticket 2 - Outbound
3) PEK - CNX -- Ticket 3 - One Way
Train from CNX to BKK
4) BKK - PNH - Ticket 4 - One Way
Visit Cambodia / Viet Nam
5) HAN - PEK -- Ticket 4 - One way
6) PEK - LAS -- Ticket 2 - Return
6) LAS - DFW -- Ticket 1 - Return

DFW - LAS - $300 / LAS - PEK - $2200 / PEK - CNX - $500 / BKK - PNH - $350 / HAN - PEK $500 prem econ. - others are business class.

Sorry, I didn't mean to take so long -- but working on details -- Thanks for reading.

CFM3RD Nov 26, 2018 12:41 pm

To clear up my misunderstand --

To use PEK - CNX - call it 1800 miles -- $500 on an Oneworld carrier - and this is a bad example since there is not OW carrier on this route - but if there was.

The EQD would be 450 --- and not $125. Correct?
