JAL YVR - TPE Business Class from US$ 1,907

There was a great fare for the same route with ANA and UA which seems to be gone but now JAL has the same fare .
Starting at $ 1,907 for travel in December and about $ 300 more in October.
Other dates might be available but this is what I've found so far since I am planning to travel during this time period.
Hope someone can make use of this but remember that the YVR - NRT is operated by an 787 with angled lie flat seats.

These are regional business recliner seats, NOT lie-flat - buyer-beware.

I assume you're talking about NRT-TPE. YVR-NRT is angled lie-flat.

This is not quite correct. Flights from YVR to NRT are operated by their 787 with the angled flat seats - SHELL FLAT NEO Seats.

The flights from NRT to TPE is operated by their B767 which have the JAL SKY Suite II which is actually better than the product on the 787 used for YVR services.
I believe the flights to TPE will have these seats as of July 1st.

To me, angled is no better than a recliner - for the same money, I'm on the same route in UA Polaris, and there are/were options on ANA and Air Canada, both with lie-flat seats (ANA via SEA/SFO/LAX). If you need OW/AA miles, I guess this is a decent find, but I certainly wouldn't put the product in the same category as the lie-flat premium options we were able to book recently.

Careful there. JL I fares earn at a reduced rate; less than Premium Econ fares even.

Yep, which strikes me as totally bizarre, I've just never understood that.

YVR-KHH (Kaohsiung, the largest city in southern Taiwan) would be better. The same price but NRT-KHH is lie-flat 767.

Yes, at the $1900 fare, you only earn 14% of miles flown or $1600. I need close to $2800 eqd for this year.

In your case you might be better off spending the extra $500+ for the XNX09DN0 fare that books in D and X class. At 25% miles flown, (I assume you're talking about AA) that would give you about $3000.

At that cost though there are probably flights that can achieve the same purpose cheaper.

I dare say you are in the minority on this one. And your first post (quoted here) is phrased as a statement of fact rather then an opinion, and thus is blatantly false.

This fare also works for BKK. And one can route through ORD or LAX on AA or JL metal to avoid the product used at YVR. It’s still an I fare, so earnings aren’t so great.

It's pricing out about $200 more for me to BKK, plus it seems like I only found NRT connections with the exception of change airport on some legs to HND. I've done that once (not voluntarily, thanks UA ), and it wasn't all that much fun
