AY/JL business JFK-HEL-NRT $3087 rt
I class. Between HEL and NRT it's possible to take either the AY A350 or JL 787. 17,962 miles flown so could be good as a oneworld status run. Full-day layover at HEL on the outbound, and overnight at HEL on the return. Sample dates: outbound 3/6 and return 3/12. The fare can be used from some other US cities, connecting at JFK, with a surcharge (e.g. add a DCA tag for an extra $300 r/t).

Always appreciate a deal being posted, but is this really a better idea for JFK folks than taking a hop up to Toronto and taking advantage of the ~$2200 YYZ-NRT fares that seem to pop up reasonably frequently? About 5k extra miles flown for another $800 in cost, I guess...
