Nyc-hkg pe cx $1185+ usd
1st post here. I'm sure others have noted the "Black Friday" sale on Cathay Pacific which wasn't too exciting but the PE fares from NYC to HKG seem to be a sweet spot IMO. Specifically if crediting to AA the EQD and EQM earnings are ~3,228 & ~24,126. Dates are aplenty and you can play with routing through YVR for additional earnings (just make sure it is a different flight number). Link attached for reference, but again it appears wide open Jan-May.

Not really a deal.
BR's PEY is just about $50 more. For those of you who are so concern about ranking, BR actually has a better PEY than CX.

So far not seeing anything like you described but too hard to tell with such great details provided. Most BR PEY is $1900+ in 2018 from SFO and NYC. One departure date from SFO with $1300 ish.
Also crediting on BR PEY isnt so hot for UA flyers as for PQM and PQD.

There is nothing I can do with PQD. But it is strange that UA only gives BR's P 50% even it is a PEY fare class.

Having trouble finding much availability for these sale fares beyond January 218. They're supposed to be valid through 23 May, but availability is really poor. Mainly referring to fares to TYO, RGN and KUL. Haven't searched much else on this sale. I must say I'm really underwhelmed with the poor inventory.

HKG is the cheapest. I saw lots of TYO, KUL fares when the sale first started but the prices jumped quickly - CX must have only put a few seats on sale for the other routes.

The J (in I class) are not good for AA EQD EQM purpose, but it's a good deal around $3k.

$100 change or cancel fee for PEY is pretty decent. But yeah $400-500 for J kind of sucks.
