SV: Milan to Kuala Lumpur business class RT across Christmas/NYE € 941

I know Saudia has not the best business class out there (no alcohol, just to tell one), but it is anyway a 14 hours business seat on 787+A320

Look on GFlights for MXP to KUL, different dates available, ex. 24 december to 8 january

Maybe I'm an alcoholic, but I don't see the point of business class without champagne or any alcohol

What about everything else that isn't available in Y usually? You know a bottle of Dom 2006 is available for under $200 right?

If alcohol really is the only thing for you that differentiates J from Y, why not just fly Y on any other carrier and drown yourself in it?

You guys know that Saudia has an excellent hard product on the 787 right? Just drown yourself in alcohol when you get there🙄

I flew their A320 a couple of weeks ago FCO-JED, and it really not bad. Better than most A320’s F or J service I’ve been in.

If someone's travelling business all the time, work, leisure, mileage or what not, no alcohol on couple a of trips should not make a difference whatsoever.

BUT, if you're on holidays only once or twice a year, sipping tea for 14 hours just ain't gonna cut it. For many, alcohol is a significant part of the whole experience that Saudia (and few others) simply cannot provide.

I'd like to try them one day, but that's only because they seem so exotic and are the flagship carrier of the culture in parts so medieval and cruel, and yet economically developed, rich and strong, that it becomes borderline fascinating.

Seeing this palm tree and 2 crossed swords instantly reminds you that it's not a place to act up, and platoons of entitled snowflakes the West is filled with these days have no business there.

I guess it would kinda be like someone accustomed to Starfleet was flying on board a Klingon starship

Disagree. While I like my booze as much as the next person, this is a biz seat at a Y price. If you are going to SE Asia from EU for your annual holidays, SV biz class food and a lie flat seat is going to be a hell of a lot better than anything you can get elsewhere in Y, and will be a significant upgrade of the holiday experience for the vast majority of people.

That said, I would not want to spend a minute longer than necessary in the JED/RUH transit.

This is the issue. The no alcohol has been repeated here dozens of times and is no longer a required reminder.

We had a fairly short transit, maybe 3 hours, so it wasn’t bad at all. Most seem 6-8 hours, though. The lounge isn’t horrible, honestly. Way better than Cairo, but that’s not saying much.

It’s better than the CGK lounges I often go to, but not as good most 2nd tier Asian cities.
