Here's a decent fare from Houston to Europe.

This is available pretty much through EOS on a wide range of flights. Really unusual to see such availability.

As a UA Gold is it better to book via UA or LH/Swiss? I do not need PQDs just trying to get as many RDM and EQM. Cheers

The PQM accrual will be the same and the RDM accrual will be similar. All else equal, if you don't need PQD, book with the carrier who will be operating the flights. It's simpler for things like seat assignments.

as i was recently lamenting i haven not flown INTL J for eons, this is a tempting fare, but i will wait for it to reappear hopefully from SFO and on ST to avoid positioning costs.

Does this ("to Europe") imply as long as one wants to travel to Bucharest or considers transiting from there elsewhere? Selecting various other cities in Europe as the destination (including the connection point, Munich) returns much higher fares, at least looking on Google Flights.

Only works going to OTP, best I can tell. So you need to book a separate flight if your final destination is other than OTP.

If this fare is good enough (and it is, IMMV), why don't you book it? You do not need to stay in Bucharest/OTP, if you do not want to. From OTP you can go pretty much anywhere in Europe on the cheap, thanks to the low cost carriers such us W6, 0B or FR. And you don't even have to fly a low cost carrier, you can book legacy carriers as well, as their fares from OTP are not high either, since they need to compete with the LCCs.

I'm trying to convince my wife. What's preferred LH A340, LH 747, LX A330, UA 767, or UA 777-2(non polaris)?
