JAL: LAX - KUL, I Fare ~2700 RT Thanksgiving

~$2680, with 1 night (18 hour) layover in NRT around Thanksgiving. Valid LAX departure dates: November 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 27 29, etc (check JAL's site)

773 to NRT, 789 to KUL

I initially found this on google flights but it doesn't seem to be listed anymore. Still valid on JAL.

AA EQD/EQM: 2,474.64/26,514

70% is only on base miles. EQM is 1.5

Right, I forgot the AA calculation.

It's a good fare but the discount in earning doesn't work for me, it's a rare find on JL coded flights tho, usually I never see JL business class that low.

Wow, JAL's site is truly terrible. I can't find a way to build a multi-city itinerary on their site to KUL - I'd like to stop over in Tokyo more than 18 hours.

It's a little bit less, 140%. The 70% is applied to actual mileage first to get the base mileage. The 100% RDM class bonus (and any elite bonus) is on that reduced base mileage.

Kayak is showing a business fare around that period on either China Eastern (via Shanghai) or China Southern (via Canton) for $2300-2400. Going through Shanghai with an American passport, no visa would be required. Haven't checked on Canton but very possibly the same is true.

Of course, just because it's on Kayak doesn't mean it really exists.
