LHR-MEL/SYD business, vietnam airlines 1916 euro

Seems like it works on the site of Vietnam Airlines:

https://www.google.nl/flights/#searc...VN55;sc=b;eo=e

All flights on the 787, books on the airlines website voor 1666 GBP

Maybe not the nr 1 airline, but still a good price

Seems like an excellent deal! Thanks for posting.

It's about 21,100 BIS miles all in reverse herringbone seats in the 787-9. I think it's better to avoid an itinerary with a domestic flight (SGN-HAN) because that would probably require a visa.

Stopovers are possible; but the options are limited in terms of dates. Couldn't get it to show up on ITA or EF

Worth checking http://lanhsuvietnam.gov.vn/Lists/Ba...e70eee&ID=306:

many nationalities no longer require a visa, subject to certain conditions.

£1717 is the best I could see, which is a great deal (if you don't mind 16 hrs in SGN).

It's a terrific airline, they run rings around most western carriers.

That's the drawback, but I think they offer tours or a hotel room (they did at one stage anyway, check the fine print), but depending on the time of day 16 hours in Ho Chi Minh City is not a hardship, it's a wonderful city.

16 hours at SGN (airport) would be a killer!

Flight get into SGN at 5:30am (I guess about 10:30pm UK time). Not the ideal time for a hard day's sightseeing

Basically, no, if you stay airside.

From timatic

Transit Without Visa (TWOV): Passing through an international
transit area of the airport in order to board a connecting (or

to proceed by the same) flight, without entering the country
(i.e. clearing immigration).

Unless stated otherwise, passengers wishing to TWOV must:
- be en-route to a third country (e.g. itinerary TYO-LON-TYO

is not considered TWOV);
- prove that they will continue their journey within the

prescribed period (e.g. hold onward tickets);

- have documents required for entry into the country of
destination and for transit through countries en-route;

- remain in the transit area (airside) or on the aircraft.

Note: For transit purposes through China (People's Rep.), Hong
Kong (SAR China) and Macao (SAR China) are considered as third
countries, as they have their own entry regulations.

Note: TWOV is not intended for those holding stand-by tickets,

e.g. airline employees or other passengers travelling on
industry discount.

I flew between London and Australia with them twice and certainly wasn't offered any accommodation despite the said long wait. (We booked our own though - wrote to a few hotels and many will quote you a price for a day use)

SYD to CDG as at May last year in J it was available, I'll check the conditions of it's still available. Their website isn't the best, I'll have a look from my laptop when I get home.

Decent accommodation can be very cheap, but you need to add in the cost and nuisance factor of getting a visa for any of this.

It's really obviously linked on the website. Tour options for transit over 6 hours at SGN offer accommodation: https://www.vietnamairlines.com/vn/e...w/transit-tour
