DL: $1,072 LAX-(JFK)-SDQ
This is a decent way to experience Delta One cross-country for less than just a simple LAX-JFK rt. Perfect for a mini vacation, or someone wanting to pad miles and can't stomach coach.
There are similar Caribbean tag-ons besides Santo Domingo. Punta Cana and Montego Bay can work, but SDQ seems to be the cheapest and most available.
Sample date August 27-31. I booked one in mid-July.
