Smile DHS Sets Security Alert Level To Green For 8 Seconds

WASHINGTON—For a brief eight-second period Tuesday, Homeland Security officials lowered the national terror alert system to green, indicating the first occasion since September 11, 2001, that the United States of America was at absolutely no risk of a terrorist attack.

What's that, the delay from when the Hellfire hit Osama to the time his replacement popped up?

Sadly, The Onion probably does threat assessments better than TSA.

Neither. The new TSO Approved Universal Wrong Answer is now:

Some airports do, some don’t. Each airport is different.

And somehow, this country still survived during those 8 seconds.

DHS will probably say the Onion was giving aid and comfort to Al Qaida by making fun of them.

When you hear to says terror threat alert is Orange or Red. Either way it will need to be secure the flights & reinforced the cockpit door. Its doesn't happening again in the future about terror threat alert anymore. I believe they will have long enough about 9/11. TSA will eventually to try to forgettable in the past. This is not specific time for put back on orange as terror threat. I think all commercial airports should have to be reduction terror alert to put back on elevated/yellow. There is no specific any threat at US Airports. TSA should have to told DHS must to be changeability to put the lower level to elevated/yellow or Blue/Guarded.

According to wired:

http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/200...leveladvisory/

"Here are the new meanings:

* Yellow = Guarded – “A constant state of vigilance to protect against a terrorist attack.”
* Orange = Elevated – “Increased protective measures based on specific threat information regarding a known or suspected terrorist plot.”
* Red = High Alert – “Maximum protective measures to protect against an imminent or ongoing terrorist attack.”

Don’t forget to stock up on duct tape."

No more green or blue.

So the new Base Level is a "Constant State" of War, just like 1984 predicted. The War on Tewwow is Officially Permanent even with the 8/6/2009 WH Memo that said it was over.

Does anyone know, or is it SSI: are we at war with Eastasia and friends with Eurasia this week, or the other way around*? I'd hate to think incorrect thoughts about the wrong enemy and offend the Thought Police.

*add: Had to look it up before the Thought Police got to my door. Iraq and Afghanistan are both in Eurasia, while Our Friends Eastasia are the countries of the Walmart Supply Department. War is Peace.

And the comments on the Wired site are brilliant. Not one "well as long as it keeps us safe" sheeple. My favorite:
The threat level should be as follows:
Not happening - no worries
Happening - Worry

My sister had a ferret.

I realized that the ferret's activity level was either:

comatose

or

frantic

It pretty much describes how our government prioritizes its activities and how it reacts to threats.

In a similar vein, someone (it's late here and I just can't be bothered to look up who) once said that politicians are like cats: when they want something they're all over you, and the rest of the time they're sitting on the fence!
