Hey, i am a US citizen! this was a theoretical question.

Doesn't matter. The TSA will look at your expired visas in your U.S. passport and deny you your right to fly.

Also, this thread should be merged with: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trave...ired-visa.html

Maybe. Probably shouldn't be, but I hope they are.

You have got to be kidding me - you want airport security to be checking immigration status?? No offense, but thankfully you're up in Canada - we don't need that kind of nonsense down here.

A person's immigration status is not germane in any way, shape or form to aviation security - what do you propose next - airport security should check for swin flu, high blood pressure, or impure thoughts?

How about we have airport security do things related to airport security - like checking for weapons, bombs and other threats which are germane to security.

I agree. I dislike the TSA just as much as anyone else and I don't actually think they should be checking immigration status. It's just that the lack of respect I have for those who overstay is about the same as the lack of respect I have for the TSA.

Hi all,

In my experience, they don't. They look at the info page of my passport and shine their little light on it, but never have they checked the visa waiver stub (or asked for it when I had already removed it from my passport).

Cheers,

Oh right just a pity they are simply not capable of doing so...... remember the one who insisted on the fact the Norway was part of the Netherlands and that the USA did not accept ID from Norway?

Are you telling me YOU trust this lot with such a job????
