How to get thru Security?

Hello all--

My girlfriend is flying from San Francisco this evening, and since I won't be seeing her for months, I figures I'd stay with her as long as possible.

Ultimately I want to be able to put her on the plane and then leave the airport. Is there a way to get cleared to go to the gate without a ticket? If not what are my options?

Since the flight leaves in 4 hours, I'd appreciate if someone could get back to me...

Thanks you!

Buy a fully-refundable ticket and cancel it once past security is always an option.

mersk862, I was considering that. Btw thanks for the quick response. Will seats be available a mere 3 hours from the flight? Probably should check that out.

So if I were to do that Id simply call delta and tell them I can't make the flight anymore?(Even if I am checked in and past security?)

Is there no way to get clearance by the gate agent for a simple "gate escort?"

You can request a gate pass.
They'll issue them if you need to assist the sick, elderly, etc.

Get caught and expect a TSA cavity search.

Buy a fully refundable ticket for a flight leaving a little bit after hers. Make sure it is FULLY REFUNDABLE, I can't stress that enough.

After she leaves, either call the airline or go to a ticket agent and they will refund it. People do this every day for various reasons and the agent will know what you're talking about.

good luck

Buy any ticket, buy it for the same flight. All tickets issued on dl.com and with DL res are refundable by midnight. Who knows, maybe you can get a DBC while you're at it

The topic of this thread really has nothing to do with Delta Air Lines or the SkyMiles frequent flier program.

The new home for this thread is the Travel Security/Safety forum.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Isnt there a partiuclar fare that gets one free access into the CRC as well? Couldnt this be done for that as well?

That's the only option I know of. At my airport you would not get a gate pass.

Since the OP is referring to a flight tonite, than a refundable ticket isn't required as long as

1. Buys the ticket directly from DL
2. requests a refund before mid-night (Delta's risk-free cancelation policy)
