Are These Allowed By TSA?
I've decided to add some items to my carry-on bag and want to know if these will get through TSA (I do not check luggage.):
1) EMPTY water bottle--about 16 oz with filter (for overseas trips)
2) EMPTY 2-3 oz spray bottle--does this have to go in the 3-1-1 bag even though it's empty?
3) SOLID Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant--does it have to go in the 3-1-1 bag?
4) Condoms--do they need to go in the 3-1-1 bag? (I'm single again.)
5) Individually sealed moistened towelettes--in the 3-1-1 bag or not?
6) Eagle Creek money belt with cash, credit cards, etc. I want to wear it throught the WTMD. Will it set off an alarm?
7) Spork--a plastic thing that's a spoon on one end and a fork on the other. One outer tyne of the fork is slights serrated to act as a knife. Will this be allowed?
8) Portable coffee maker? (Dual voltage--makes an 8 oz cup of brewed coffee)
I ask because I don't want to waste time at the airport either losing any of this stuff or arguing a point.
Thanks.

Can't answer all of these, but for the ones I know:
Depends on the screener. I usually travel with my son's sippy cups that are way over the limit and I haven't had an issue. Some were even full.
I wouldn't think so.
If it's solid it shouldn't. Gel based, aerosol based, and liquid based (like roll ons) would.
Nope.
Not sure. I'd put them in the Kippie baggie though.
Should be allowed as long as there isn't brewed coffee in it.

i will share that goalie-parents both routinely travel with an empty water bottle (or 2) in their carry on luggage/purse/briefcase and it has never been a problem with screeners

All-told, I'd say you're set to head on out without a thing to worry about. Even with your spork.

1) EMPTY water bottle--about 16 oz with filter (for overseas trips)
- Never had a problem. There have been reports that if the TSO can see drops of water you lose. Go with an opaque bottle.
2) EMPTY 2-3 oz spray bottle--does this have to go in the 3-1-1 bag even though it's empty?
- Ditto.
3) SOLID Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant--does it have to go in the 3-1-1 bag?
- No. Never had a problem. Reports are that if the label actually says "solid" then you are golden with the TSA.
5) Individually sealed moistened towelettes--in the 3-1-1 bag or not?
- Never have put those in my 311, never had a problem.

Thanks all...I thought I was okay but wanted to check.
I also realize that my moneybelt attaches to my regular belt so since the regular belt has to come off, so does the money belt. It's actually an Eagle Creek Hidden Pocket which has loops for your belt to go through and it hangs down inside a pant leg. Very comfortable.
A spork, in case anyone hasn't seen one is not something that folds. it's literally about six inches long with a spoon on one end and a fork on the other. Comes in lots of different colors. Made of durable plastic. Much better than anything I've gotten from any take-out place.

There are folding sporks. There are the metal ones made for camping and folding plastic ones like these (look down towards the bottom of the page. I have carried one of those as my emergency eating utensil.

I'm a bit surprised by the responses because I have had trouble getting empty bottles past the checkpoint. They still made me toss them in the garbage. And no, there were no drops of liquid in the bottles. I've had this happen at more than one airport when I finally quit trying to bring empty bottles through. I think the airports I had problems at (going from memory here) are DFW, LGA and ORD.
My philosophy is if you think there is any chance you won't make it through with a particular item either check your bag or don't take it with you (or if you do take it be ready to surrender it) and buy one on the other end. Unfortunately for a lot of liquids this is simply the case. There seems to be no consistent screening rules in place. Some places let you take an unlabeled 3oz bottle through in the baggie and others won't let unlabeled bottles through. Simply ridiculous.
