IMHO, if she removed something that was "prohibited" or merely set the alarm off, it's NONE OF YOUR FRIGGIN' BUSINESS what it was. Period. The question is: did she set off the alarm the second time? No. Was anything in her luggage that appeared to be prohibited? No. Case closed. Had she gone through another checkpoint, she would have cleared. Likewise, if she realized she had 4.0 ounces of liquid and went to put it in a checked bag, she wouldn't have been subject to the retaliatory secondary.

We know what she claims caused it and what she claims to have removed but we can't take for granted that she's truthful. Under the circumstances it's perfectly reasonable to give her property extra scrutiny in case she transferred a prohibited item from one location to another in an attempt to get it through the second time.
There it is folks: Guilty until proven innocent. Everyone is a suspect. Call it what you will, it's what Amerika has become.
