She could have read about the new 3-1-1 rules here on FT was was explaining her "extraordinary and compelling" reason to keep her non-explosive liquids.

Some of the comments here (link) make you wonder about people.

Even if she had been uncooperative prior to the point at which the video footage begins, so what? Her alleged prior level of cooperation means nothing and a failure of people to understnad this is truly disturbing.

This 5'4", early thirties, small framed 110 lb blonde woman was clearly not posing the type of threat that required the pig to wrestle her to the ground, attempt to suffocate her and god knows what else he was trying to do to her. Bullies like that pig have no place in a civilized police force.

Good lord. The video is distrubing as hell.

NOTHING she did on video warranted this. Even mouthing off the cop doesn't warrant this.

Now if we don't cooperate with screening fully - will this happen? *rolls eyes*

And some of them clearly indicate that lead paint is still in widespread use, and is bubble-gum flavored in some households.

Personally, I think most of these incidents are simply two groups of idiots that constantly look for each other.

Right you may be-- but the problem is, the police force isn't supposed to be a group of idiots.

Bullies like that pig have no place in a civilized SOCIETY. He should be castrated, have is privates glued back, castrated again, have his privates glued again, hanged upside down by his privates, sent to federal pound me in the ... prison for 20 years where he can get his butt kicked, and then deported to North Korea where he can spend the rest of his life being a lab rat. Or caned until his butt separates from his body.

The fact that this pig did that to a woman makes it 100 times worse. Someone who assaults another person is subhuman, but someone who abuses the public's trust to assault a vulnerable individual deserves to be beheaded in public.

There is definitely always two sides to every story, and I would expect some of you not to hold so much weight to her (and the media's) side without having all of the facts in front of you. Honestly I'm not surprised. Passenger is always right, LE is always wrong on this forum. All of 20 seconds of video, and we have the judge & jury here. I hope someone here follows this story through civil court, although I don't think it will even get that far. She will take a couple of thousand dollars to go away.

A girl that says:

1 - She did absolutely nothing wrong and it happened without any provocation. Riiight, several people just felt like risking their jobs by coming up behind you and pulling you away from the belt.

2 - A forearm was used in the back of her head (when clearly the video shows his forearm was on her back). A technique to use against someone resisting to bend them over and get cuffs on them.

3 - She was scared she was going to die (give me a freakin break).

I don't know the facts because I was not there. From the video, it did look like there was some definite arguing going on. If I had to take a guess on the short video without any audio or other facts, I would think that she was told to step back from her belongings to get screened and refused to. Obviously there was enough arguing and/or commotion that a LEO was called and/or heard the argument and it went from there. I'm sure the police report will be available, and I'm sure someone will post it here.

If she's 110 lbs, I'm Oprah Winfrey

If you have initiated the screening process and refuse to do anything TSA tells you to do, then LE will be called and you will be subject to search because of your behavior and/or actions. One of the highest courts has already ruled on this. Her level of cooperation has everything to do with it. If you do not want to cooperate with TSA, then don't fly commercially. If you do not agree with how you are treated, it is not a good idea to start causing a big "ruckus" at the checkpoint .This can definitely lead to an arrest. I would say 99% of the traveling public are smart enough to handle it a civilized way by filing complaints with the appropriate agencies involved.

Wow.

I see "due process" has no place in your society, either.

Your screen name speaks volumes after posting something like this.

I have refused to do what a screener has told me to do. I have had them call a supervisor. If a 2-striped sup tells me to do what the other did, I will demand a 3-striped sup. Many - repeat - many times the 3-striped sup has sided with me and have told the original screener(s) not to do what they intended to. Not once was a LEO called for these instances.

No baa baa is going to come out of my mouth. :td:

HokieEngineer Jul 10, 2008 4:28 pm

Actually, with the frequency LEOs use tasers these days, if I was ever in this kind of situation, I would be scared for my life.

The actions of this LEO remind me of the baltimore city cop who had throw a boy down on the pavement to prove his authority down at the inner harbor. These types of people have no business with a badge. They give a bad name to all the good LEOs out there.
