Soap

I've been carrying small bars of soap in my carry-on for years. A security officer in Brisbane the other day decided it was a gel and thus needed to go in my liquids baggy and get re-xrayed.

I didn't have the heart to tell him there was a second bar of soap in my bag that he missed

The same officer decided my asthma inhaler had to go into it's own baggy? I have no idea what logic/(un)thinking is behind that.

Just when you think all the arbitrary reasons to confiscate have been exhausted, we've reached a new low: Greedy Reductionism.

If it makes you feel better, I was once told by a screener in Helsinki that aviation insecticide (the spray they use to fumigate the cabin before landing) was not permitted on board aircraft. I showed him the label which said "ONLY FOR USE ON BOARD AIRCRAFT". He was very confused.

Hahaha... Those small hotel soaps!

Last year at ZRH (Zürich) I was selected for Bag Check bcs the x-ray showed that my bag was full of "mini cheese".

I once had a screener at BWI B C/P advise me that it was illegal for me to have a CAT-5 cable in the bottom outer pocket of my carry-on roller while carrying a bar of Ivory soap in the top outer pocket of the same roller. She said it looked like explosives to her and she could have me fined.

I laughed and walked away...

I've had a screener at SEA say there was something organic inside my bag... and she pulled out my bar of soap. There was nothing but clothes around my bar of soap too....

I saw this at LGW a few years ago; while putting my shoes back on, etc, the elderly lady behind me in the security line got in trouble for having a bar of soap without a baggie. The poor dear was a bit frail and hard of hearing, and kept trying to make sense of "soap=liquid=danger", but it was confiscated anyway. She walked away embarrassed that she'd done something illegal but still not sure what it was.

You're obviously wearing cotton and not polyester

Once I forgot about a plum in the bottom of my day bag and it got pretty "organic" by the time I found it
