Miss Universe forgets passport - uses sash
Pageant Place has to be one of the more laughable shows (it's on MTV and it about Miss Teen USA, Miss USA and Miss Universe living all together). They were headed for a domestic trip and checked in at US Air. Miss Universe "forgot" her passport (I believe she's from Japan) and could not provide a "Gov't issued ID" so they told the US air check in agent he could google her, she showed some other worthless stuff and then provided her "Miss Universe" sash which magically got her through
I guess she hadn't read the "Bullies" thread and did not know she didn't need a gov't issued ID
You can go to MTV.com to enjoy the entire episode.

While perhaps not applicable to this person mentioned in the OP, for domestic travel, what is the purpose in checking the government-issued photo ID of a famous person whose boarding pass is issued in the name by which they are generally recognized? To "follow orders" or just paparazzi-like curiosity running wild?

With the TV cameras following her did you think they really doubted who she was?

You mean like Reginald Dwight aka Elton John? Legal aliases have been a curiosity of mine, too ...
