Carry-on electronic devices

There have been several threads posted recently on this subject. Can anyone direct me to the appropriate DHS/TSA site which explains the procedures for screening such devices as carry-on?

I would assume the site clearly defines what is an "electronic" device, and, having read on FT comments about small/large such devices, how size is defined, if relevant.

Thank you.

I am traveling for the first time tomorrow since this has been put in place and I want to minimize the amount of humiliation that I will be subjected to.

Stay the curse!

Did you actually read any of those other threads before starting a new one?

The information you seek is here.

And here's the link to the TSA website, it's toward the bottom.

Yes I did, but often they do not contain "official information" from which the TSA agent can ignore, but rather other's misunderstandings.

And thank you for directing me to the official TSA web site. At least I can show them a copy of the directive, if they allow me to reach into my bag for it. However, the TSA directive is silent on what is an electronic device.

Thanks again, and stay the curse!

Perhaps if you were a bit more specific as to your question someone would be able to address your concern more directly.

Is there a certain device you're wanting to bring on board?

As far as the definition, I'd think that it would be more universal instead of being TSA-defined.

I think that the rule of thumb is that if you are an electronic hobbyist, place your devices inside consumer electronics cases. It's the appearance of electronics that freaks the TSA out.
