Wow... this is pretty much a first that I've seen. I just came into MCO, but before I went into the airside I noticed that there were a ton of the flexi-rope set up to basically route pax coming out of the AGT out of the secure area without the ability to switch to the other pair of AGTs. There were also a couple random ropes set up in the AGT waiting area and a TSO sniping at people to stay behind them. When the train eventually showed up, he proceeded to walk down the length of the train, apparently looking for something, before opening the doors. Lots of grumbling from the pax and a couple of crew members.
But when we got to the airside, things appeared much more intelligent. As you might know, CBP screening exits into the sterile area so typically everyone coming from an international flight is required to go through TSA screening. This time, they shut down the TSA operation in the airside and just funneled all international arrivals onto a specific train. Hence the need to make sure it's empty when it arrived at the terminal. Of course, the operation required about a dozen TSO to watch the queue/talk to each other, but certainly fewer than running a checkpoint. There's no good reason to need to isolate them anyway, but this ended up being a decent idea.
In other news, TSOs were checking IDs at MCO but not LGA.
And my favorite... above the checked baggage screening pod was a hand-written sign that said (paraphrase, I forget the exact wording): "Never forget 9/11, God Bless TSA".

Was the sign official? I would have simply waited for an opportune time and either removed it, or scribbled something more appropriate over it
What is the logic behind this? If I want to switch trains to go to an adjacent terminal pod, I have to go through security again because they don't want to re-screen int'l arrivals? Screw that! Once I'm airside, I should be able to transfer to the next terminal pod over without being re-screened.

It wasn't official... it was just a crude little hand-written thing behind the detection unit on the wall. It was in the TSA-only area or I would have.
I'm not totally sure how the procedure was working in the terminal. I think if you were domestic and had a BP for the other airside they would let you through, but not positive. I was staring at the TSO by the train and not the screening area. Hopefully someone else will come through soon and see. This was for airside 2/gates 60-99.

Or like boca, simply ripped the stupid thing down out of disgust and walked away. Let 'em detain me. I'm willing to give up a little temporary comfort to crumble this security cookie.
"God Bless [the] TSA," I ask you!
