We travelled from DEL to DCA, arriving n DTW on July 31st. The immigration officer was one of tghe friendliest I have come across. After he scaned the first passport, he said "The date of birth was entered wrong in the information sent in advance by the airline. My 10 year old son's date of birth was 24th NOv 1911. One by one, it turned out each one of us, my wife, children and I, had the same DoB in 1911. SHould we feel better that no real information was relayed by the airline or should we cry that we have a useless system on which we are spending money and resources, denying people boarding based on this information whose eaccuracy is nit guranteed. But some how some people, even here oin FT, feel safer because of such idiotic acts.
