I assume that by your prolific use of punctuation and slang that you are using this thread to rail against people from the South. While I totally agree with the theme of your post -- that a lot of people say stuff like "if you don't support the patriot act, than you're not supporting the USA" -- I know that there's just as many people between DCA and IAD who believe the exact same thing.

It's not limited to Northern Louisiana or the South, and I don't see any reason to make fun of others.

You know what they say about what happens when you "assume."

It's more a railing against (1) the specific security people at SHV; (2) certain people atop the administration who cultivate some "friendly, good ol' boy" image (which includes affectations like "terr'rist," and who has been known to make many malapropisms in public speech); and (3) the fact that many of those who blindly head-nod to the administrations statements on the "war on terrah" do indeed come from areas more likely to speak in that way (most of the residents of my birth state, for example, who voted overwhelmingly to endorse Dear Leader and who still shout "anything for security" at any trip to the airport).

Having grown up in the "south" and having studied at the graduate level the speech patterns to which I harken in my post, I can honestly say I have nothing against those who speak with said patterns, but I do have quite a bit against those who blather along in lock-step in making statements such as I caricaturized. So let's not condemn things in the name of political correctness too quickly.

I have a mind just to drive around like 20x just to see that fat-arse parrish sherriff walk back and open my trunk again and again.
Great idea!
